C&S Companies is seeking a Summer 2027 Civil Engineering Intern (Aviation focused) to join our Aviation team in Detroit, MI (and other locations listed). You will support projects, learn FAA rules, and gain hands-on experience in AutoCAD and quantity takeoffs.

This internship offers mentorship from leaders, regular intern socials, and real project exposure, with potential for future opportunities. Applicants should be enrolled in Civil Engineering and have a passion for aviation

Qualifications

Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, or another related field. Completion of sophomore year preferred.
Knowledge of AutoCAD or other 3D modeling systems.
Strong analytical, conceptual, and problem‑solving skills.
Previous internship experience or involvement in a related student association a plus.

Responsibilities

Creating exhibits/working on plans in AutoCAD.
Creating real life quantity takeoffs and cost estimates for projects.
Reviewing project specifications and understanding FAA rules and regulations for airport projects.
Learning about funding sources for airport projects.
Airport site visits/possible construction inspection (with supervision).
Collaborating with engineers on real projects.
