Job summary

C&S Companies is offering a Summer 2027 Civil Engineering Intern (Aviation focused) position in Florence, KY. You will support the Aviation team on plan creation, quantity takeoffs, FAA compliance, and funding research while gaining mentorship and professional growth.

Ideal candidates are pursuing Civil Engineering, have AutoCAD knowledge, strong analytical skills, and prior internship or related activity experience. The program runs 10–12 weeks this summer.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (sophomore year preferred).
• Knowledge of AutoCAD or 3D modeling software.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Prior internship experience or involvement in a related student association is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Creating exhibits/working on plans in AutoCAD
• Creating real life quantity takeoffs and cost estimates for projects
• Reviewing project specifications and FAA rules for airport projects
• Learning about funding sources for airport projects
• Airport site visits/possible construction inspection (with supervision)

Position Overview

As an intern on our Aviation team, you will play a key role in supporting projects and collaborating with team members. Our internship program offers the chance to connect with leadership, work closely with mentors, and grow both professionally and technically. We also make sure to have fun - through company events, intern socials, and team bonding, our interns truly become part of our ONE C&S mentality. Exceptional interns may have the opportunity to transition into a full-time role after the internship, launching their career with us and continuing to grow within C&S.

Position Responsibilities

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, or another related field. Completion of sophomore year preferred.
• Knowledge of AutoCAD or other 3D modeling systems
• Strong analytical, conceptual, and problem-solving skills
• Previous internship experience or involvement in a related student association a plus.

Estimated Compensation Range: $18.00-$25.00/hour*

*Actual compensation may vary based on prior internship experience, current academic year, degree program, certifications, and geographical location.
