Job summary

Current is seeking interns to join our Audit team for the 2027 Summer Internship season. This part-time, seasonal role offers a minimum of 10 hours per week with flexibility for a student’s summer schedule and opportunities to learn accounting and corporate finance principles.

Locations include Syracuse, Rochester, Ithaca, Watertown, and remote options are not specified. Compensation ranges from $20.00 to $30.00 per hour, with a comprehensive benefits package and access to Becker and LinkedIn

Qualifications

• Active enrollment in Accounting, Business, or Finance; Junior standing or above preferred.
• Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical abilities.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite for data analysis and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Learn accounting and corporate finance principles and procedures.
• Multitask, prioritize, and stay organized in a fast-paced environment.
• Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately.

Bowers Internship Summary:

Committed to attracting, developing, and retaining the best people across our firm and business service groups. Bowers Accountants Advisors is looking for highly motivated, collaborative, and results-oriented interns who thrive in a fast-paced environment to join our team for Summer 2027!

Responsibilities

• Familiarity and ability to learn accounting and corporate finance principles and procedures
• Ability to multitask, prioritize, and organize efficiently
• Ability and willingness to maintain confidentiality
• Become familiar with and effectively utilize software for Auditing
• Communicate status updates to managers/supervisors as needed

Key Objectives

• Approach daily responsibilities with the Bowers’ mission and client-centric philosophy in mind.
• Learn the audit process: information gathering, client follow-up, preparation, and completion.
• Develop the ability to identify, understand, and address accounting issues.
• Strengthen written and verbal communication skills with clients and colleagues
• Participate in firm outings and activities as able.

Qualifications

• Active enrollment and a major in Accounting, Business, or Finance (Junior standing or above is preferred)
• Interest in pursuing a career in public accounting
• Interested in meeting the college requirement towards CPA eligibility
• Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite

Schedule:

• Part-time- Seasonal Internship - Minimum of 10 hours a week
• Internship will end in the August timeframe

Pay:

$20.00-$30.00/hour
