Job summary

Savage is seeking a Material Handling Operator for its Midwest Forming Facility in Chicago to operate and maintain heavy equipment used for receiving, storing and forming Sulphur. The role is on-site with a strong emphasis on safety and daily paperwork.

Qualifications include a High School Diploma, strong communication skills, and the ability to learn priller/ship loader operations. Opportunities for growth and a comprehensive benefits package are highlighted.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma and good communication skills.
• Experience or familiarity with safety rules and operating procedures is a plus.
• Ability to learn heavy equipment operation and conveyor systems.
• Experience with bulk materials handling is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Follow proper safety rules and operating procedures to support zero tolerance safety objectives.
• Operate/maintain heavy equipment including prilling unit, frontend loaders, ship loaders, conveyors, hoppers, and other mobile equipment.
• Complete and maintain required daily paperwork.
• Housekeeping duties including cleaning work areas, restrooms, break rooms, and offices.
• Assist Maintenance personnel as needed and directed.
• Maintain company objectives and expectations in the absence of the Facility Manager and Operations Manager.
• Willingness to work weekends, nights, holidays and overtime as required.
