Job summary

American Crystal Sugar Company is seeking a Process Engineer at its Drayton, ND plant to identify process changes that increase throughput, improve sugar recovery, and reduce costs. You will ensure programs are effective and compliant with regulatory requirements while leading improvements across the operation.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering, completion of ACSC’s Engineering Trainee program or 3 years of experience; 5–7 years preferred, with strong

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering or related field and Engineering Trainee program completion.
• 3 years of experience required; 5–7 years preferred.
• Knowledge of the sugar processing industry preferred.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work with individuals at all levels of the organization.
• Effective time management skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and promote a positive work culture through Company Values of Safety, Integrity, Quality, Teamwork, and Accountability.
• Identify changes in production to improve process efficiencies and quality while reducing costs.
• Provide input and direction on key projects to ensure safe and sanitary conditions meeting policies.
• Coordinate maintenance and capital projects with Maintenance Superintendent and Engineers to ensure profitable operations.
• Provide resources and reviews for wastewater management to minimize wastewater generation during processing season.
• Provide resources to design systems that develop management and union personnel through training.
