Job summary

A multidisciplinary engineering firm is seeking a SUE Technician for their Ithaca office. Responsibilities include operating SUE utility locating equipment and overseeing field operations. The ideal candidate holds an AAS or BS degree in a related field and has a minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar role. This position offers flexibility and competitive pay ranging from $24.00 to $30.00 an hour, along with comprehensive benefits including health insurance and paid time off.

Qualifications

• AAS or BS degree in a technology discipline.
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a related position.
• Previous SUE experience in an engineering design environment.
• Knowledge of utility designation and field operations documentation.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain SUE utility locating equipment.
• Read and interpret utility prints and design plans.
• Manage daily field operations with a team.
• Prepare detailed daily reports and field sketches.
• Assist with QA/QC of final SUE deliverables.
