WithersRavenel seeks a skilled SUE Technician to support our Subsurface Utility Engineering team. You will assist the SUE Party Chief in locating underground utilities using EM and GPR technologies, with a strong emphasis on safety and accuracy.

Qualifications

  • Willingness to travel and stay overnight for out-of-town projects.
  • Valid driver’s license required.
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • General understanding of utility infrastructure systems.

WithersRavenel is seeking a skilled and motivated SUE Technician to support our Subsurface Utility Engineering (SUE) team. In this role, you will assist the SUE Party Chief in locating underground utilities using electromagnetic (EM) and ground penetrating radar (GPR) technologies. This position is ideal for someone with hands‑on experience in utility locating who values accuracy, teamwork, and a strong safety culture.

Requirements

  • Valid driver’s license

  • Proven problem‑solving and decision‑making abilities

  • Willingness to travel and stay overnight for out‑of‑town projects

  • Process-oriented with strong technical aptitude and directional awareness


Working Conditions

This job is performed outdoors in areas such as residential neighborhoods and roadways. Incumbents will be exposed to uneven terrain and all types of weather conditions.


Physical Requirements

To perform the essential functions of the job, incumbents will be required to stand/walk for long periods of time outdoors and may be required to perform moderately strenuous tasks, such as lifting and carrying equipment up to 25 pounds.
