Job summary

Accura Engineering and Consulting Services, Inc. seeks a SUE Technician in Atlanta, GA to perform subsurface utility investigations using GPR, electromagnetic locators, and vacuum excavation, with a focus on safe excavation practices.

Ideal candidates have 1–2 years in SUE or utility locating, can read construction plans, and will work with project managers and field staff to produce accurate reports, field notes, and drawings while traveling to job sites as needed.

Qualifications

• Highschool diploma or GED.
• 1–2 years of experience in SUE or utility locating.
• Familiarity with SUE methods, including QL-B, QL-C, QLD and QL-A.
• Ability to read and interpret construction and utility plans.
• Must pass pre-employment drug screening and background check.

Education/Experience:

• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Willingness to work in various weather conditions and travel to job sites as needed.
• Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
• Must successfully pass a pre-employment drug screening and background check

Physical Requirements:

• Physically mobile in and around construction sites and field assignments
• Ability to carry required instruments and equipment
• Ability to lift 50 pounds
• Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
• The worker is subject to variable climate and environmental conditions including but not limited to extreme cold and heat.
