Job summary

Halff in Fort Worth, TX is seeking a SUE Field Technician I to locate and mark underground utilities using electromagnetic locating equipment, read plans, and document locate results. You will operate the company vehicle, perform manhole entry, and travel for projects as needed.

Candidates should have 1+ years locating experience (or be a new grad), a valid Texas driver’s license, and the ability to lift 50 pounds. Drug/background screen is required.

  • Able to work outdoors in varying weather and travel as needed.
  • Must pass drug and background screening.

SUE Field Technician I - Fort Worth, TX

Halff has a current opening for a SUE Field Technician in our Fort Worth, TX location.

What You Will Do
  • Operate various electromagnetic locating equipment, to locate and mark underground utilities within prescribed accuracy limits.
  • Read and interpret utility plans/prints to identify the type and size of underground utilities.
  • Provide accurate documentation and/or sketches related to locates completed.
  • Operate company vehicle in a safe manner and maintain professional appearance.
  • Perform manhole entry using assigned equipment and safety devices.
What You Will Need
  • 1+ years of locating/designating experience is preferred, however, will consider new grads.
  • Must have a valid Texas Driver's License.
  • Vac Truck experience is a plus.
  • Ability to work outdoors in changing weather conditions, including heat and cold.
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds and stand/walk for extended periods of time.
  • Possess a meticulous attention to detail and strong ability to promote accuracy. There is very minimal room for error in this position.
  • Ability and willingness to follow instructions that may be written, delivered verbally, or conveyed from various methods of communication.
  • Must be flexible, dependable, responsible and disciplined to be a positive representative for Halff and remain punctual on a consistent basis.
  • Overtime and weekend work may be needed to meet project deadlines.
  • Must be able to arrive to work earlier than usual start time, beginning at 6:30am, Monday through Friday.
  • Must have reliable transportation.
  • Will need to be available to travel out of town.
  • Ability to pass a drug and background screen.
  • High school diploma or GED, at minimum is required.
