Sherwood Surveying & S.U.E., LLC in The Woodlands, Texas is seeking a Subsurface Utility Engineer (SUE) Technician responsible for designating buried utilities using advanced geophysical technologies. This role involves field designation, data interpretation, and safety adherence.

Responsibilities include field observations, researching utility records, and communicating findings. Overnight travel may be required; a valid driver’s license and strong communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associates degree or higher preferred.
• Ability to work outside in all weather for extended periods.
• Ability to travel overnight within Texas.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Valid driver’s license with clean record required; no exceptions.

Responsibilities

• Ensure safety of crew, clients, and the public.
• Perform SUE designation and field observations.
• Research utility records to support field work.
• Understand project goals, scope, and client expectations.
• Excavate utilities following guidelines and operate equipment.
• Operate and maintain SUE and surveying gear.
• Interpret subsurface information in field and post-processing.
• Communicate findings clearly to team.
• Occasional overnight travel may be required.
• Cross-train Surveying and SUE duties; maintain professional image.
