Job summary

Sherwood Surveying & SUE LLC in The Woodlands, TX is seeking a Subsurface Utility Engineer (SUE) Technician to designate buried utilities using advanced geophysical methods. You will interpret subsurface data in the field and during post processing while supporting both Surveying and SUE duties.

Overnight travel within Texas may be required, with a focus on safety and accuracy. You will operate and maintain surveying and SUE equipment, review utility company records, and communicate findings

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associates Degree or higher preferred.
• Ability to work outside in all seasons for extended periods.
• Ability to travel overnight to various parts of Texas.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record required.

Responsibilities

• Ensures the safety of all crew members clients and the public.
• Working knowledge of utility line locating equipment SUE designating.
• Research utility company records and perform field observations.
• Understand project goals scope of work and client expectations.
• Excavates utilities and follows guidelines for scope of work.
• Safe operation of company vehicle and equipment.
• Interpret subsurface information in field and post processing.
• Communicates findings and analysis to team and clients.
• Cross-train between Surveying and SUE duties.
