Job summary

Northpoint Recovery in Washington state is seeking a SUDP-T Counselor Intern to work under the guidance of counseling staff and a multidisciplinary team. You will gain hands-on experience in counseling, case management and delivering services to adults with substance use disorders.

The internship offers flexible scheduling to fit a student’s school plan, with opportunities to facilitate groups, document assessments, and participate in individual and family counseling under supervision.

Qualifications

• Must be seeking licensure in the state where services are rendered.
• Must be at least twenty-one (21) years of age.
• Minimum of 1 (one) year experience in relevant field.
• Ability to work with a diverse population and possess strong interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate, under the direction of counseling staff, education and process groups
• Complete documentation in a timely manner, as required by policies and procedures
• Assist with patient interventions and retention
• Complete biopsychosocial histories and treatment plans under the direction of clinical leadership
• Engage in individual and family counseling under the direction and supervision of clinical leadership
• Maintain professional boundaries with patients at all times
• Oversee and participate in the quality assurance and compliance activities of the facility
• Adhere to all company policies and procedures
• Maintain confidentiality in accordance with established policies and procedures and standards of care
• Other clinically appropriate services and special projects as assigned
