Overview
The Subway Assistant Manager performs all tasks and responsibilities of the Associate and Team Leader and will operate the restaurant in the absence of the Franchise Manager. This includes maintaining food safety, product preparation, cleanliness, inventory control standards, and staff training. Exceptional customer service is a major component of this position.
Pay: $17/hr
Responsibilities
- Model good customer service and act as a positive role model for excellent customer service practices.
- Train and empower employees to provide excellent customer service.
- Resolve customer complaints courteously, professionally, and promptly.
- Assist in hiring by providing current and future staffing needs and using recruitment techniques.
- Ensure new employees are properly trained on all aspects of the restaurant.
- Maintain cleanliness of food preparation and dining areas.
- Assist employees in greeting customers, taking orders, and food preparation.
- Conduct regular meetings with the Store Manager and employees to enhance communication and teamwork.
- Perform employee performance reviews and discussions regularly.
- Prepare and post work schedules in advance.
- Provide clear and consistent directions and expectations to employees.
- Establish written job assignments.
- Ensure foodservice area, equipment, and utensils meet cleanliness and health standards.
- Maintain equipment in good working order.
- Ensure employees adhere to dress code, appearance, and health requirements.
- Provide timely motivational feedback and coaching.
- Counsel and document employee performance as needed.
- Monitor inventory levels and ensure efficient ordering and stock management.
- Review food forecasting to maximize sales and control food costs.
- Train and develop employees.
- Review management reports and take actions to balance inventories.
- Verify deliveries for accuracy.
- Ensure product quality and freshness through proper rotation, ordering, and monitoring.
- Ensure accurate pricing and proper signage for products.
- Promote sales through suggestive selling and other methods.
- Report sales, food costs, and profit opportunities to management.
- Follow all health, safety, and government regulations, including proper record-keeping.
- Control labor, food costs, and expenses within guidelines.
- Manage sales, profits, and expenses to meet budgets.
- Maintain Subway Manual and training materials accuracy.
- Operate the restaurant within established hours.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Must be 18+ in AR, CT, FL, LA, MI, MA, MS, MO, NC, SC, TX, TN, AZ, CO; 21+ in other states.
- Valid driver's license and access to a vehicle with auto insurance.
- Flexible schedule and willingness to work various shifts.
- Fluent in English and comfortable with basic math.
- Prepared to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check.
