Subsurface Utility Engineering (SUE) Field Technician III

Join us at T2 Utility Engineers as a Subsurface Utility Engineering (SUE) Field Technician III in Norcross, GA. We are seeking a motivated individual to lead and perform utility locating operations, ensuring comprehensive and accurate utility mapping.

Position Details

This role offers a pay range of $28.00/hr - $32.00/hr. T2 Utility Engineers provides competitive benefits and opportunities for career advancement. Since 1993, our team has delivered professional SUE and surveying services supporting infrastructure projects of all sizes.

Responsibilities

• Operate SUE utility locating and designating equipment in complex environments to accurately map utilities
• Complete detailed daily reports, forms, and field sketches electronically and by hand
• Supervise and train SUE field crew activities
• Represent T2 Utility Engineers with clients, subcontractors, and third parties during field operations
• Maintain and operate vehicles, equipment, and tools properly
• Facilitate safety meetings and perform hazard analyses
• Drive commercial vehicles (CDL not required)
• Set up safety measures for traffic signage
• Manage equipment inventory and assist with safety and operational procedures

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED
• At least 2 years of experience as a SUE Technician II
• Ability to interpret utility prints and design plans
• Strong communication skills and attention to detail
• Valid driver’s license with a good record
• Ability to secure client identity verification (e.g., TWIC, SWAC)
• Physical ability to lift 50 lbs and operate heavy tools
• Willingness to work outdoors in all climates and travel up to 50%
• OSHA safety certifications are a plus
