Subsurface Utility Engineering (SUE) Field Technician III

Join us for the Subsurface Utility Engineering (SUE) Field Technician III role at T2 Utility Engineers.

Overview

Located in Boston, MA, T2 Utility Engineers seeks a dedicated SUE Technician III to lead and support our field operations. With over 30 years of experience, we provide top-tier utility locating and engineering services supporting infrastructure projects nationwide.

Responsibilities

• Operate SUE utility locating equipment in complex environments to accurately map utilities
• Complete detailed reports, sketches, and forms electronically and by hand
• Supervise and train field crew members
• Represent T2ue during field activities with clients and third parties
• Maintain and operate vehicles, tools, and equipment properly
• Lead safety meetings and perform daily hazard analyses
• Drive commercial vehicles (CDL not required) and manage traffic safety setup
• Maintain equipment inventory

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED
• At least 2 years experience as a SUE Field Technician II
• Ability to interpret utility prints and plans
• Strong communication skills and attention to detail
• Valid driver’s license with a good record
• Ability to pass physical, obtain TWIC/SWAC, and secure a DOT medical card if necessary
• Physical ability to lift 50 lbs and work outdoors in all climates
• Willingness to travel up to 50% with overnight stays
• OSHA safety certifications are a plus
