Job summary

StudentNest is seeking tutors for in-person math sessions at Los Angeles County Public Libraries and nearby sites. You will deliver targeted instruction, work with small groups, and use provided curriculum and educational technology to engage students.

Flexibility to adapt to different library locations and schedules is essential. Ideal candidates have at least 60 college credits, one year of student-related experience, and can complete fingerprint clearance quickly.

Qualifications

• Fingerprinting must be completed within 48 hours of offer.
• DOJ/FBI fingerprint clearance required for the position.
• Provide three professional references.
• Minimum of sixty college credits completed.
• At least one year of student-related experience required.

Hours:

• Tues-Thurs 2:30-7:30 PM or Tues/Wed 2:30-7:30, Thurs 2:00-5:30 (hours vary by site)
• In-person, substitute tutor

Pay:

• $22.00-$24.00, dependent on experience, department worked and other factors

In this role, you will:

• Deliver targeted instruction in math to support middle school aged students.
• Provide small-group tutoring using provided curriculum, evidence-based strategies, and educational technology.
• Differentiate teaching strategies to meet diverse learning styles, academic needs, and developmental levels. Prepare lesson plans for sessions during designated preparation time.
