Position supports Preschool through Grade 12 classrooms on campuses in Los Altos and Mountain View, with on-call hours and a commitment to student well-being and safety.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
• 6 ECE units required for Early Childhood.
• Experience working with children in an educational or childcare setting.
• Waldorf training preferred, or familiarity with Waldorf education.

Responsibilities

• Substitute in Preschool, Kindergarten and/or Grades 1-3.
• Provide classroom supervision and support as directed by the lead teacher.
• Maintain a calm, engaging, and developmentally appropriate learning environment.
• Uphold classroom rhythms, routines, and community agreements.
• Support students’ social-emotional well-being throughout the day.
• Communicate effectively with faculty, parents and administrative staff.
• Ensure student safety and follow all school policies and procedures.

Waldorf School of the Peninsula (Preschool - Grade 12) is celebrating it's 41st year of bringing Waldorf education to Northern California. Our school has two beautiful campuses: Preschool through grade 5 in Los Altos and a few miles away in Mountain View are grades 6-12. Our ideal substitutes are individuals who appreciate Waldorf education, can provide a warm and nurturing presence, and are comfortable stepping into a variety of learning environments.

• Substitute in Preschool, Kindergarten and/or Grades 1-3.
• Provide classroom supervision and support as directed by the lead teacher

• Strong classroom/student management and communication skills
• Ability to adapt, take initiative, and maintain a steady, grounded presence
• Reliable, punctual, and able to work on short notice on-call, as-needed basis
• Must pass a background check and TB assessment

Compensation

The hourly range for Substitute Teaching Assistants vary from $23.97 to $26.50 depending on class levels.
