Job summary

A Place to Grow in southern New Hampshire is seeking substitute teachers to support one or more sites (Durham and Brentwood) on an on-call basis. You will collaborate with our teaching staff and help create a welcoming, nature-rich classroom experience for children.

Responsibilities vary by background and may include assisting with daily activities, supporting children through big emotions, and helping maintain a safe, inclusive learning environment across classrooms.

Qualifications

• Fingerprinting and a background check required.
• NH Health and Safety Training (9 hours online, paid) required.
• Complete First Aid and CPR training (company paid).

Responsibilities

• Support classroom teachers with daily activities and routines.
• Help children with big emotions and provide a comforting presence.
• Work across one or more classrooms at A Place to Grow’s NH sites.

About This Role

Looking for a little extra income with the added benefit of hugs and lots of love? A Place to Grow has three locations in southern NH and we are looking for substitute teachers who can support one site or all three sites (Durham and Brentwood) on an on call basis. As a substitute, you will always work together as a team with a member of our teaching staff.

A Place to Grow is situated on 13 acres of outdoor classrooms which offer our children and teachers opportunities to explore the woods, garden, go for nature walks, and grow through experiential learning processes. High School and College candidates are welcomed back each year during holidays and breaks and have flexibility with work schedules during the school year to create a schedule that meets your needs.

What You’ll Do

Responsibilities will vary based on each candidate’s background and may include supporting classroom teachers with daily activities, helping children with their big emotions, or even wiping tears after a child is hurt. A Place to Grow is a small school and our educators have the incredible opportunity to work with all classrooms and students across the school.
