Job summary

A Place to Grow is seeking substitute teachers to support one site or all three locations in southern NH (Durham and Brentwood) on an on-call basis. You will work with our teaching staff as part of a team in a small school setting on 13 acres of outdoor classrooms.

Responsibilities vary by background and may include assisting with daily activities, helping children with emotions, and supporting teachers. Training and background checks are required and provided.

Qualifications

• Fingerprinting and a background check are required (company paid).
• NH Health and Safety Training (9 hours online, paid).
• First Aid and CPR training completed (company paid).
• Substitute teachers can be college students, grandparents, or anyone willing to learn.

Responsibilities

• Support classroom teachers with daily activities.
• Help children with big emotions.
• Wipe tears after a child is hurt.

A Place to Grow has three locations in southern NH and we are looking for substitute teachers who can support one site or all three sites (Durham and Brentwood) on an on call basis. As a substitute, you will always work together as a team with a member of our teaching staff.

A Place to Grow is situated on 13 acres of outdoor classrooms which offer our children and teachers opportunities to explore the woods, garden, go for nature walks, and grow through experiential learning processes. High School and College candidates are welcomed back each year during holidays and breaks and have flexibility with work schedules during the school year to create a schedule that meets your needs.

What You’ll Do

Responsibilities will vary based on each candidate’s background and may include supporting classroom teachers with daily activities, helping children with their big emotions, or even wiping tears after a child is hurt. A Place to Grow is a small school and our educators have the incredible opportunity to work with all classrooms and students across the school.
