SAU 39 is seeking substitute teachers to cover classes across our five schools in the Amherst area. You will manage the classroom and daily duties of the absent teacher, with a daily rate of $150 per day. Applicants will interview with a building administrator to determine school placement.

SAU 39 aims to qualify applicants for the substitute list, provide orientation, and address questions to ensure a good fit at the chosen building.

Substitute teachers are responsible for managing the classroom and daily duties of the absent teacher.

Daily Rate: $150.00 per day.

As part of the SAU 39 Substitute Application process, applicants will interview with a building administrator at one of our five schools. If an applicant has a preference as to which school they would like to substitute at, we will coordinate an interview with that building administrator.

The goal of SAU 39 is to meet and qualify the applicants who apply to be on the substitute list for SAU 39, to value the importance of having a conversation to explore position expectations and the role the teacher plays in student learning outcomes for the day. This meeting also provides the applicant with a tour of the school in which they are interested in working at and to address any questions or concerns to ensure that being a substitute would be a good fit at a particular building.
