West Kearney High School, located at the Youth Rehabilitation and Treatment Center, is seeking a dedicated long-term substitute teacher to support and inspire our students.
The DHHS Youth Treatment School System delivers exceptional education and treatment services to high-acuity youth. As an educator with us, you’ll help students rediscover their passion for learning while supporting a therapeutic, rehabilitative, and holistic model of care.
This long-term substitute position is based at our Kearney YRTC location.
In this role, you will create and deliver lesson plans that align with school standards and meet the educational needs of high-acuity youth.

Requirements/Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications: Any teaching endorsement, with a 7-12 certification. Will consider candidates eligible for valid Nebraska Teaching Certificate, a Local Substitute Permit, or a State Substitute Permit.
Preferred Qualifications: Demonstrated experience working with youth in adolescent treatment setting is preferred.
Pay: $26.871
Knowledge, skills, abilities
Ability to regularly demonstrate patience, persistence, caring, empathy, and a desire to do what is best for these students. This position requires working directly with adolescents who may show physical aggression and uncooperative actions.
