JOB TITLE: Substitute Teacher/Teacher Assistant
DEPARTMENT: Calvary Christian Academy
REPORTS TO: Principal and Assistant Principal
STATUS: Temporary; Hourly non-exempt
HOURS: As needed, on-call
LOCATION: Calvary Christian Academy, all campuses

Purpose Statement: The CCA substitute teacher/teacher assistant plays a vital role in furthering the mission of Calvary Christian Academy. The individual will work in the capacity for which they are hired, either teaching, training, leading, guiding, or following lesson plans to educate students appropriately. As a substitute, they will follow the lead of the teacher or fulfill assigned tasks, which may include clerical duties, supervision, and class coverage. The individual must take ownership of their role to ensure students are well supervised and taught or assisted as per the provided plans.
Scope: This multifaceted position involves taking on tasks of absent staff, maintaining constant contact with children, staff, parents, and church members.
The candidate must be ordained, commissioned, or licensed as a Minister of the Gospel, in accordance with Calvary Chapel’s Ecclesiastical Practices Manual. This role is integral to furthering the religious mission of Calvary Chapel.
