Job Description

Job Goal: To maintain a safe, orderly environment and high level of student learning when the regular teacher is absent.

Qualifications: Non-certified subs must have a high school diploma or equivalent. Forty-eight credit hours or college degree preferred. Experience working with children preferred. Certified subs must have a bachelor's degree in education with a teaching license. Long Term subs must have an active North Carolina teaching license in the area of the long term assignment.

References must include your current or most recent supervisor.

Additional requirementsafter the pre-screening process is completed include a criminal background check and principal interview, which we can help you set up if assistance is needed.

Once offered and accepting a position as an NHCS Substitute candidates will complete fingerprinting and online NHCS Substitute Training and Effective Teacher Training if you do not have a teaching license.
