Job summary

Connecticut Institute For Communities, Inc. seeks Substitute Staff for its Danbury Early Learning Programs (HEAD START & SCHOOL READINESS).

The position is hourly/per-shift and offers flexible schedule with on-call coverage to support classrooms serving children ages 6 weeks to 5 years. Substitutes work under the Substitute Coordinator and a classroom Teacher, helping maintain routines, meals, and activities; long-term assignments may arise.

Qualifications

• Age 18 or older required.
• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Some childcare or preschool experience encouraged, or highly motivated candidates with no experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist classrooms to maintain routines, curriculum, meals and activities for children ages 6 weeks–5 years.
• Work under the direction of the Substitute Coordinator and a daily classroom Teacher.
• Cover planned staff vacations and day-of unplanned coverage; long-term assignments may arise.
