Job summary

CRISTA Ministries is seeking a part-time/on-call substitute teacher for King’s Schools Preschool in Shoreline, WA. You will support lead and assistant teachers, maintain a safe, engaging classroom, and follow established curriculum under supervision.

The role requires a Christian commitment, state ECE credentials, and prior experience with children; CPR/First Aid, TB test, vaccinations, and STARS waiver or completion within 3 months are required. Flexible, collaborative teamwork is essential.

Qualifications

• Two years prior experience working with children.
• Washington State Initial ECE Certificate (12 credits) or equivalent.
• Negative Tb skin test prior to first day of work.
• CPR and first aid for child/infant.
• HIV and blood borne pathogen training.
• Proof of MMR vaccination and food handler’s permit.
• STARS basic 20-hour waiver or take the class within 3 months of hire date.
• Commitment to work with multi-ethnic, culturally diverse student and parent population.
• Clear communication to young children and to teachers, parents, and supervisors.

Responsibilities

• Support the Principal and Assistant Principal in maintaining a quality program that upholds King’s Schools and Preschool standards.
• Assist lead/assistant teacher and staff to maintain a safe, thriving learning environment.
• Collaborate with teaching team to solve problems and guide students throughout the day.
• Perform tasks independently and with minimal supervision.
• Comply with state regulations concerning a state-licensed preschool.
• Develop positive relationships with teachers and staff.
• Represent yourself as a professional in Early Childhood Education consistent with King’s Preschool standards.
• Assist teachers in classroom, on playground, and in lesson prep and implementation.
• Communicate professionally with Director, Assistant Director, teachers and King’s Preschool staff.
• Work collaboratively with supervisor, coworkers, students and parents.
