Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Able to work effectively with students, teachers, administrators and community members.
• Must complete substitute training and register for AESOP.

Responsibilities

• Carry out instructional plans under the classroom teacher.
• Assist with follow-up and review lessons.
• Maintain a pleasant and orderly classroom environment.
• Assist in managing classroom behavior and discipline with teacher approval.
• Procure, set up, and operate audio-visual equipment.
• Assist students in completing learning tasks assigned by teachers.
• Support other instructional activities and field trips as needed.
• Help move students between learning environments.
• Record attendance and handle simple clerical tasks as directed by the teacher.
• Supervise lunch periods and non-instructional times.
• Assist with maintaining student records under supervision.
• Participate in team meetings and perform other duties as assigned.
