Job summary

Boys Town in Omaha, NE is seeking a Substitute Teacher to step into classrooms when the regular teacher is unavailable. This on-call role offers daytime shifts and a starting daily pay of $180, with $190 for consecutive days in the same class.

Locations include Boys Town Education Center and Wegner Day School. You will deliver instruction, support student growth, and maintain a positive learning environment aligned with our mission to inspire learning and change lives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited school required.
• Current Nebraska Teaching Certificate or Nebraska Substitute Teacher Certificate required.
• CPR and PEM certifications may be required in RTC or select settings.
• Background and experience with learning disabled and behaviorally impaired learners preferred.
• Special Education endorsement preferred.

• Deliver engaging instruction and follow established lesson plans.
• Adapt teaching methods and materials to meet individual student needs.
• Supervise and support students in classroom and school settings.
• Maintain accurate records and communicate effectively with staff and families.

What You'll Be Doing:

• Deliver engaging instruction and implement lesson plans for students in accordance with established curriculum
• Adapt teaching methods and materials to meet individual student needs
• Supervise and support students in classroom and school settings
• Maintain accurate records and communicate effectively with staff and families.

School hours are 8:25am-2:00pm

Who We're Looking For:

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited school required.
• Current Nebraska Teaching Certificate or Nebraska Substitute Teacher Certificate or a Local Substitute Teacher Certificate required.
• PEM, CPR and nationally recognized personal restraint model must be obtained if subbing in the RTC or select settings required.
• CPR and personal restraint certification (required in select settings)
• Background and experience to include work with learning disabled and behaviorally impaired learners preferred.
• Special Education endorsement preferred.
