Job summary

Pembroke Hill School is seeking substitute teachers for the 2026-27 school year, assigned to Early Childhood through Upper School as needed. Substitutes support learning by following lesson plans, maintaining classroom management, and modeling the school’s Mission and Values.

Candidates must be available for multiple assignments monthly and may be asked for last-minute coverage. A valid sub certification or education degree is required or expected for candidates in progress.

Qualifications

  • Sub certification, Bachelor's degree or 4th year student in an Education program required.
  • Previous classroom experience subbing or teaching strongly preferred.
  • Other experiences, such as tutoring, or working with children at the appropriate age level will be considered.
  • Availability for multiple teaching assignments with the possibility for last minute coverage when needed.
  • Must model the Mission, Values and Promise of Pembroke Hill School (see below)

Job Summary

Pembroke Hill is seeking dedicated and enthusiastic educators to add to our 2025-26 substitute database. Substitute teachers will support the continuation of learning in the classroom in the absence of the main/lead teacher. Responsibilities include but are not limited to following lesson plans, classroom management, modeling the Mission, Values and Promise of Pembroke Hill School (see below). When hired, substitutes will be assigned to division(s) appropriate and relevant for skillset and comfort level of student age - Early Childhood (age 2-PreK), Lower School (K-5), Middle School (6-8), Upper School (9-12). Subs must be available for multiple assignments each month and may be asked to be flexible with duties/assignments while at school.

Compensation
  • Lead Faculty (all divisions).This position will lead classroom instruction:$150 full day, $70 half day, $100 for in-between
  • Faculty Assistant (lower school, early childhood).This position is a teaching position supporting the lead in small or large group teaching:$130 full day, $60 half day, $90 in-between
  • Free lunch when on campus during the lunch hour.

  • Ability to occasionally balance, reach, bend, squat, stoop, or kneel
  • Ability to climb stairs, walk, and occasionally run, if required
