Job summary

PARK COUNTY SCHOOL DISTRICT 6 is seeking a Substitute Teacher to be on-call and step in when the regular teacher is absent. This role carries out the lesson plans of the teacher for whom you substitute and supports the school calendar.

You will implement lesson plans, instruct students, follow school requirements, assign work, address different learning styles, and model proper English. On-site position with school-related duties.

Qualifications

• Implement existing lesson plans ensuring academic time integrity.
• Instruct students on a variety of classroom topics and courses of instruction.
• Follow lesson plans as required by school.
• Assign tasks and homework per lesson plans.
• Address diverse learning styles accordingly.
• Model correct spoken and written English language.
• Demonstrate professional practices.
• For long-term assignments, develop lesson plans; create, administer, and grade tests/assignments; participate in parent-teacher conferences; attend school events.

• Ensure adequate supervision of students and the classroom environment to assure health, welfare, and safety.
• Take all necessary precautions to protect equipment, materials, and school property.
• Remain in classroom and monitor students at all times.
• Report all student injuries, accidents, illnesses, and discipline problems to the school secretary.
• May supervise students in out-of-class settings (e.g., assemblies, lunchroom, schoolyard).

SUBSTITUTE TEACHER

Salary - $20.00/hour

Job Description

A substitute teacher is on-call employee of a school. A substitute teacher may be called the day before they are needed or early in the morning on the day of the absence of the regular teacher due to illness or other obligations. A substitute teacher is expected to be a role model for the students just like regular teachers. He or she supports the main school calendar by stepping up when the agreed teacher is unable to take their full responsibilities. This employee is responsible for carrying out the lesson plans of the teacher for whom he/she is substituting and meeting the duties of teaching as outlined in laws and policies.
