Job Description

Hermiston School District is seeking qualified applicants to serve on-call as a substitute teacher. The successful candidates will work on-call, performing teaching duties within the Hermiston School District. Oregon Teacher license or the ability to obtain one is required.

Hermiston School District's Substitute Teacher pay for 2026-2027 will be:

• Pending Board July 13, 2026 approval / full day
• Pending Board July 13, 2026 approval / half day

To be eligible for an Oregon Substitute Teaching license the applicant must:

• Hold a Bachelor’s degree or higher from a regionally accredited institution in the United States or hold a foreign equivalent degree, as approved by the Oregon licensing commission, Teacher Standards and Practices (official transcripts required).
• Must be able to successfully pass a fingerprint-based background clearance check.

If you do not hold a Bachelor's degree, but are currently enrolled in a Bachelor's degree, Teacher Education/Licensure program, there is a District Sponsored Substitute license available.
