• Support English language literacy, including reading comprehension, spelling, grammar, vocabulary, and writing, for elementary students.
• Manage classroom behavior effectively, ensuring a safe and productive learning environment.
• Supervise students in classrooms, recess, lunchtime, and during transitions.
• Maintain classroom routines and support students with diverse backgrounds and abilities.
• Collaborate with staff and follow school protocols for instructional support and behavior management.
• Escort students to and from different locations as needed (e.g., lunchroom, playground).

About Us

Colorado International Language Academy (CILA) is a unique international charter school offering language immersion (50% in 1st-5th grades) in three world languages—Mandarin Chinese, German, and Spanish. Position Overview

We are seeking passionate and dedicated substitute teachers for the 2024/25 school year who can step in and support our students’ learning when full-time teachers are unavailable. Substitute teachers play a vital role in maintaining the continuity of learning and creating a positive, engaging classroom environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide instruction in place of regular classroom teachers, following the teacher’s lesson plans or, if necessary, adapting plans to meet the needs of students.
• Support English language literacy, including reading comprehension, spelling, grammar, vocabulary, and writing, for elementary students.
• Manage classroom behavior effectively, ensuring a safe and productive learning environment.

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to escort and supervise students in various settings.
• Ability to stand for long periods and engage in physical activity, including stooping, kneeling, and supervising outdoor activities.
