Job summary

LifeWise Academy in Wooster, Ohio seeks substitute teachers who are active church participants with strong communication and classroom management skills. You will deliver LifeWise curriculum, maintain a safe, engaging classroom, and model Biblical teaching in alignment with LifeWise beliefs.

This part-time, non-exempt role requires completing substitute teacher training, taking attendance, maintaining records, and coordinating with volunteers and the classroom teacher.

Qualifications

• Active participation in and commitment to a local church whose doctrine aligns with LifeWise Academy Statement of Faith

Responsibilities

• Complete substitute teacher training
• Teach LifeWise classes on an as-needed basis
• Implement the LifeWise curriculum provided by the teacher
• Maintain a safe, organized and stimulating classroom environment following LifeWise policies and procedures
• Follow the program's student discipline policy
• Take attendance in each class and provide attendance records to the teacher
• Maintain a clean, attractive and well-ordered classroom
• Know procedures for emergency situations
• Act as a LifeWise Academy ambassador within the community
• Communicate lesson plans with volunteers before class and assign duties
• Communicate with the teacher
