Job summary

KIPP Tulsa Public Charter Schools in Tulsa, OK seeks a Day‑To‑Day Substitute Teacher to provide instructional support in the absence of the regular classroom teacher, across multiple campuses, with a flexible, part‑time schedule.

You will maintain routines, facilitate lessons, monitor safety and behavior, record attendance, and collaborate with teachers and administrators. A minimum of 48 college credits or 2+ years working with children is required.

Qualifications

Job Description

Day‑To‑Day Substitute Teacher to provide instructional support in the absence of the regular classroom teacher. The position offers flexibility and the chance to work in various KIPP Tulsa campuses within the Tulsa region.

Responsibilities

• Maintain as fully as possible the established routines and procedures of the school and classrooms to which you are assigned.
• Execute daily academic facilitation of classroom lesson plans in alignment with the school curriculum during the duration of the assignment.
• Assume responsibility for overseeing student safety and behavior in class and at other times during the school day, as requested.
• Maintain appropriate student behavior at all times throughout the school day for assigned students.
• Record student attendance daily (attendance is essential for compliance purposes).
• Offer support to and receive constructive feedback from teachers and administrators to create a professional working atmosphere that is conducive to change and improvement.
• Treat information about students and staff with the utmost confidence and confidentiality.
• Commute to schools within a 15‑mile radius of your assigned base location for critical sub needs and be willing to commute beyond in extreme circumstances.
• Exhibit flexibility regarding changes to daily assignments in order to support the immediate needs of the school (e.g., Hall Monitoring, clerical, lunch room duty, after‑school duty, etc.).
• Utilize the practices and procedures in the Team & Family Handbook distributed annually by KIPP Tulsa Public Charter Schools.
• Report to assigned base locations daily on time (no later than 15 min. late will be allowed).

Work Conditions

Compensation and Benefits

This is a Part‑Time, 10‑month position. The daily rate is commensurate with experience and is based on the KIPP Tulsa daily substitute scale.
