A local educational center in New York is seeking an energetic Substitute Teacher to create a welcoming learning environment for children aged 18 months to 5 years. The ideal candidate is compassionate, creative, and well-organized, with prior experience in early childhood education. This role requires flexibility with hours, including both part-time and full-time shifts, and adherence to child safety guidelines. Opportunities for growth into other roles are also available after one year of employment.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 18 years of age and a high school diploma.
• Previous experience with children between 18 months-5 years old.
• Understanding of child development principles and best practices in education.
• Knowledge of classroom health, safety, and sanitation guidelines and the ability to closely adhere to the guidelines.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Arrive in time to the assigned classroom, ready to work.
• Follow lesson plans and be an active participant in children's play.
• Prepare necessary learning materials.
• Prepare any necessary learning materials
• Become familiar with NY State Child Care Regulations and Center Policies.
• Present a pleasant and helpful presence to the families of the children we serve.
• Complete mandated trainings of 30 hours every 2 years
• Report behavioral incidents
• Be a team player

Job Summary:

We are seeking an energetic and experienced Substitute Teacher to join our team! As a Substitute Teacher, you will supervise classes and work with teacher assistants and or Co-Leads. Your goal is to create a welcoming learning environment and provide students with the tools they need to reach their full potential. The ideal candidate is compassionate, creative, and highly organized. This position is an on-call, hourly, part-time, or full-time shifts; we require flexible candidates. Shifts that may need coverage are 8-4:30 pm, 9:00-5:30. 9:30-6 pm, 12:00-6:00 pm, or 3:00-6 pm.

Responsibilities:

• Arrive in sufficient time to the assigned classroom, ready to work.
• Follow lesson plans
• Be an active supervisor, but at the same time an active participant in children's play.
• Prepare any necessary learning materials
