Responsibilities

• Maintain a positive learning environment and respond to the individual needs of the students.
• Implement effective lessons in the absence of the teacher.

• Be familiar with fire exits, fire and tornado drill procedures. Review notes for the day, take attendance and follow the lesson plans of the teacher.

• Demonstrate the ability to adapt to circumstances. Exhibit good judgment and use appropriate language or behavior while on assignment.

Job Description

Title: Substitute Teacher

Pay: $125.00 for a full day of substitute teaching/$135 for teachers with 10+ experience and $65.00 for a half-day of substitute teaching/$70 for teachers with 10+ experience

Purpose and Objectives of the Position: Implement lessons plans in the absence of the teacher creating a positive learning environment to facilitate the personal, social, and intellectual development of students. To accomplish these tasks, the Substitute Teacher works closely with the staff and administration of the district.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Abide bystate statutes, school board policies and regulations.
• Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.
• Leave detailed notes for the teacher on any issues experienced during the day.
• Other duties as assigned by the Principal or Office.
