Envision Education is seeking a Full Time Substitute for Downtown Oakland Science Academy to lead students toward academic success within a diverse, supportive community.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with admins and grade-level teams to cover classes and advisories.
• Follow daily substitute lesson and unit plans across subjects.

• Engage in weekly professional development and coaching sessions.
• Utilize technology and web-based programs to guide student learning.
• Know students well and foster community and belonging in the classroom.
• Build strong relationships with families and communicate student progress.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with administrators andin grade level teams daily to ensure coverage for classes and advisories in need of a substitute.
• Internalize, and follow lesson and unit plans for daily substitute needs in all subjects.
• Support general education students and special education students with 504 or IEP plans.
• Focus on professional learning and mastery through weekly professional development and coaching sessions.
• Leverage technology and web-based programs to guide students in their own learning.
• Know students well, develop a strong sense of community and belonging in the classroom, and personalize each student’s learning experience
• Build strong relationships with families, including meeting with families on a scheduled basis to share information about their students and the school.
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• B.A. or B.S. required
• Valid California 30-day substitute permit
• Commitment to the mission of Envision Education
• Commitment to professional learning and growth
• Receptiveness to feedback and a desire to continuously improve in service of student academic outcomes
