Job summary

Envision Education seeks a Special Education Learning Specialist for 2026-2027 at Impact Academy High School and Middle School in Hayward, CA. The role includes a base salary with supplements for Special Education, MA, and/or leadership credentials.

You will lead IEP-driven academic planning, collaborate with school staff, and coordinate services to support equity-focused, college-ready students.

Qualifications

Envision Education seeks a Special Education Learning Specialist for the 2026-2027 School Year for Impact Academy High School and Middle School in Hayward, CA. In addition to the base salary, this opportunity includes: $5,000 Special Education supplement and/or $3,500 MA supplement for candidates with a MA degree.

Key Responsibilities

Reporting to the Principal the Learning Specialist will lead students in an academic vision of success that focuses on each student's IEP goals, Envision’s graduate profile, and college/career readiness.

  • Lead case management of students with IEP's.
  • Train and provide direction and guidance to assigned Instructional Assistants.
  • Coordinate service providers and create schedules of service minutes that meet each students’ IEP requirements.
  • Collaborate with School Psychologist and Associate Director Special Education to conduct assessments, prepare IEP reports, and ensure procedural rights.
  • Create and modify lesson, unit, and instruction plans.
  • Implement accommodations, and modifications to ensure students’ learning success in general education classrooms.
  • Regularly analyze student data and devise strategies to improve instruction
  • Build strong relationships with families
  • Lead IEP teams, and facilitate IEP meetings.
Qualifications
  • Commitment to the mission of Envision Education.

  • A Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science Degree.
  • Valid California Teaching Credential or out of state equivalent with ability to transfer required.
  • Demonstrated success working with parents and families, especially Black, African American, Latine/a/o/x, and immigrant families.
  • Once hired, continuous current California residency.
  • Receptiveness to feedback and desire to continuously improve to meet outcomes.

Compensation & Benefits

Annual starting salary range of $63,672 - $102,546 dependent upon years of aligned experience and credentials.

  • Additional Supplements for:
    • Special Education: $5,000
    • Second Credential: $500
    • Masters Degree: $3,500
    • Doctorate: $2,000
    • Board Certification: $5,000
    • City Arts and Leadership Supplement: $5,000
    • Lead Learning Specialist (SPED): $10,000
  • Additional Leadership Stipends for:
    • Instructional Lead Team: $5,000
    • Grade Level Lead Team: $5,000
    • Summer Professional Development: $250/day
