Job summary

Substitute Teacher assumes the full role and responsibilities of the Teacher in his/her absence, provides support to regular classroom staff for establishment, maintenance and management of all classroom activities.

Duties and Responsibilities

Minimum Qualifications

• High School Diploma and/or GED.
• At least one year of experience working with infants and toddlers in a childcare setting.

Preferred Qualifications

• Child Development Associate (CDA) certificate.
• Associate Degree in Early Childhood Education.

Certificates / Licenses / Registration

• Current driver’s license and access to a covered automobile with current insurance.
• Current CDA or AA in Early Childhood Education required.

Physical Demands

Requires walking and interacting with children during rigorous outdoor play for up to 45 minutes at a time, sitting, bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching and occasionally standing. Must lift and move up to 10 pounds regularly and up to 25 pounds frequently. Requires close, distance, peripheral vision with ability to adjust focus.
