Job Description

Kountze Independent School District offers training for substitutes via the Substitute Teacher Orientation Workbook. It is mandatory that all applicants for a substitute position review the workbook and complete the three tests associated with the information provided; Bloodborne Pathogens, Anaphylaxes and the Substitute Training Quiz, at which point a Certification of Completion will be issued. The workbook may be purchased at Central Office with the submission of a completed application for a cost of $5.00. Once these steps have been completed, your information will be sent to the TxDPS, for a ‘Fastpass’ to be issued. The Fastpass will enable you to schedule an appointment in Beaumont to get fingerprinted. The Fastpass cost is approximately $49.00, this charge is your responsibility to pay. Once this process is complete, cleared for employment and all the information below has been turned in; you will be added to the approved substitute list. This is for a SUBSTITUTE position, on an AS NEEDED basis and does not constitute an offer of employment.

The daily rate is:

$83.00 for non-certified/non-degreed substitute

$93.00 for certified/degreed substitute (4 yr Bachelor’s degree) (transcripts of BA degree MUST be on file for increased pay)
