Job Description

CONTINUOUS POSTING 2025-2026 SCHOOL YEAR

Earn $140-$200 per day, depending on location working as a substitute teacher for Kingman Unified School District or work part time as your schedule permits. We have a Monday through Thursday 4 day school week so you can enjoy every long weekend off.

Summary/Objective

Managing student learning, in the absence of the regular teacher in accordance with the goals and directives of the District.

Essential Functions

  • Responds to all internal and external customers, as it relates to job, in a prompt, efficient, friendly, and patient manner
  • Teaches district approved curriculum, as specified in the Arizona Standards
  • Creates a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of the students
  • Takes all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities
  • Employs a variety of instructional techniques and instructional media, consistent with the needs and capabilities of the students involved

  • Establishes and maintains standards of student behavior to achieve an effective learning environment

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a 9-month, 148 days, on call temporary position. Employee will work up to nine hours per day Monday through Thursday. Employee may need to work extended hours to meet deadlines. This position is not eligible for medical benefits.

Required Education and Experience
  • High school diploma/GED certificate
  • Valid substitute teaching certification, as issued by the Arizona Department of Education
Preferred Education and Experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree or
  • AA degree or, 60 semester hours from accredited university, or satisfactory results on an AZ state-approved competency exam. (Para Pro)
Required Certifications/Licenses
  • Valid and appropriate teaching certification, as issued by the Arizona Department of Education
Work Authorization/Security Clearance

Must be able to pass a criminal background check and obtain an IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card through the Arizona Department of Public Safety.
