Job Goal

Through job assignments, serve as the instructional lead of students in the absence of the regular teacher.

Professional Responsibilities

Reports to the building principal or school secretary upon arrival at the school to receive assignment and special instructions.
Review all plans and schedules to be followed during the teacher day.
Review special needs of students and emergency procedures.
Maintains as fully as possible the established routines and procedures of the school classroom to which he/she is assigned.
Teach students using the lesson plans as outlined and described by the absent teacher.
Follows all policies, rules, and procedures to which regular teachers are subject and which good teaching practices dictate.
Returns the classroom to an orderly condition at the conclusion of the day, placing papers collected on the teacher’s desk.
Maintains confidentiality of all school‑related matters.
Performs all other duties as dictated by law and/or by a supervisor or administrator.

Terms of Employment

Work year is on an as needed basis for assignments. Compensation is a daily rate based on the rates established by the Board of Education.

Evaluation

Performance of this job will be completed by the building principal(s) on an annual basis.
