Makom seeks a dedicated Substitute Teacher to support our Sunday educational programs at Agudas Achim. This on-site, part-time on-call role involves stepping in during staff absences to execute pre-assigned lesson plans and maintain a welcoming, inclusive learning environment.

You will follow plans, manage the classroom, supervise participants, and communicate progress to the lead teacher. A high school diploma is required; higher education in Education or related fields is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; advanced education preferred in Education, Judaic Studies, or related fields.
• Experience with children, youth, or community education settings.
• Strong communication, classroom management and problem-solving skills.

Responsabilités

• Instruction & Program Delivery: Follow and deliver lesson plans left by the primary educator, ensuring continuity of learning and engagement.
• Classroom Management: Maintain a safe, respectful, and organized environment that supports positive behavior and student well-being.
• Supervision & Safety: Monitor participants during classroom activities, breaks, and program transitions to ensure safety protocols are strictly followed.
• Adaptability: Flexibly adjust activities or teaching approaches to meet the diverse needs, age groups, and learning styles of participants.
• Communication & Feedback: Keep detailed notes on participant progress, attendance, and any notable events or incidents to provide feedback to the lead teacher upon their return.

Job Summary: Makom is seeking a dedicated, reliable, and adaptable Substitute Teacher to support our community and educational programs. The Substitute Teacher will step in during regular staff absences to execute pre-assigned lesson plans, maintain classroom structure, and foster a welcoming, supportive, and inclusive learning environment for all participants.

Key Responsibilities

• Instruction & Program Delivery: Follow and deliver lesson plans left by the primary educator, ensuring continuity of learning and engagement.
• Classroom Management: Maintain a safe, respectful, and organized environment that supports positive behavior and student well-being.

Makom takes place on Sundays from 9:00 am–12:00 pm at Agudas Achim. Teachers are expected to be there 15 minutes before and after school hours.
