The daily rates for substitute teachers are $125.00 a day for short-term and $197.25 a day for long-term.

Requirements

• All substitutes are required to have a Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) issued substitute teaching certificate. If you do not already have this certificate, we will help guide you through the process. A Substitute Certificate requires 36 semester hours of credit from a regionally accredited college or university. Verification of these hours must be provided with an original transcript to DESE from each institution the applicant has attended.
