Responsibilities

• Serve to continue learning when the classroom teacher is absent, aligning with district curriculum
• Implement established curriculum goals and objectives using effective teaching techniques
• Monitor and assess student progress and provide feedback to students and the classroom teacher
• Communicate aims and objectives clearly and organize instruction accordingly
• Create a conducive learning environment suitable for student maturity and interests
• Assist administration in enforcing district policies and student behavior rules
• Maintain accurate records as required by law and district policy

Core Job Functions

• Serve to continue learning while the classroom teacher is absent, which meets the individual needs, interests, and abilities of students within the district curriculum
• Use effective teaching techniques and materials to implement established curriculum goals and objectives
• Monitor and assess student progress to provide feedback regularly to students and their classroom teacher
• Communicate aims and/or objectives to students in a well-planned, organized manner using clear and precise language
• Create a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of students
• Assist the administration in implementing all policies and rules governing the development of proper student behavior
• Implement reasonable classroom rules of behavior and procedure in a fair and just manner
