OurSummer Education Programis a very special and exciting opportunity to become a part of a dynamic and talented team working with very extraordinary students (age 5-21). As aSpecial Education Teacher,you will teach school age students requiring special education in an extended school year program. You will develop lessons to address the goals of the Individual Educational Program for each student and write end of summer IEP Progress Reports. Each Special Education Teacher will design academic and non-academic activities for the group and select appropriate educational materials and activities. You will implement effective behavioral intervention strategies as needed. Additionally, will oversee the work of all Teachers’ Aides, assigning groups of students to each staff member, providing instruction and guidance.

Education/Experience:BA and NYS Special Education Teacher Certification or Masters and Special Education Teacher Certification required.

Additional Requirements:

• Must be cleared and maintain acceptable records under NYSED and the NYS Justice Center mandated criminal background check process.
• Must be clear and maintain an acceptable record under the Medicaid Fraud & Abuse clearance process.
