Job description

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT

Substitute Salary Schedule

Substitute Server Helpers are limited to working 600 hours per school year.

QUALIFICATIONS

  1. Must have valid Health Certificate.
  2. Ability to relate well with other food service workers and other school personnel.
  3. Demonstrate ability to operate and care for institutional kitchen equipment and ability to lift and carry objects up to 50 pounds.
  4. Demonstrate ability to do basic mathematics and change menus for proportioned quantities and attendance factors.
  5. Demonstrate ability to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing.
  6. Always punctual.
  7. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the board may find acceptable.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Assist with preparation, assembling, serving and clean-up of meals following Food Service policies and procedures and comply with regulations concerning meal pattern requirements.
  2. Supervise and instruct student workers assisting with the meal period.
  3. Follow proper sanitation, safety and temperature control procedures in accordance with health department standards.
  4. Responsible for maintaining a safe work environment and report all problems to appropriate department in a timely manner.
  5. Additional duties as requested by the Food Services Director.
