The Utah Schools for the Deaf and the Blind (USDB) invites you to consider a challenging substitute RN/LPN role in Salt Lake City, with occasional shifts in Springville and Ogden.

This PRN, part-time position runs during the school year, Monday through Thursday, 10:00–1:00, with after-school activities as needed and coverage across USDB campuses.

Qualifications

• Utah RN or LPN license required.
• Ability to follow written and/or oral instructions.
• Clear and effective communication.
• Maintain confidentiality of student information.

Responsibilities

• Provide special and general nursing services for students enrolled at USDB.
• Provide treatment, care, and evaluation of students' medical needs.
• Assist with medical emergencies, perform first aid as needed, and submit incident reports.

• Ride in a van with students to and from school.

The Utah Schools for the Deaf and the Blind (USDB) invites you to consider a challenging and diverse employment opportunity with our school. We are looking for a highly motivated individual to fill a substitute (PRN) RN or LPN position, mainly in Salt Lake City, with days in Springville and Ogden as needed.

*This PRN position works during the school year, with the option of working in the summer. Work Schedule: Monday through Thursday, 10:00 - 1:00; works after-school activities as needed and covers as a substitute nurse across all USDB campuses.

Roles and Responsibilities

As a School Nurse, you will:

• Provide special and general nursing services for students enrolled at USDB.
• Provide treatment, care, and evaluation of students' medical needs.
• Assist with medical emergencies, perform first aid as needed, and submit incident reports.
• Complete documentation on time.
• Ride in a van with students to and from school.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

• Licensure as a registered nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in Utah.
• Ability to follow written and/or oral instructions.
• Communicate clearly and effectively.
• Enter, transcribe, record, store, or maintain information in written or electronic form.
• Maintain a strict level of confidentiality

Supplemental Information

• Risks requiring special safety precautions and/or equipment, e.g. working with contagious diseases, hazardous chemicals, etc: risks found in potentially dangerous/unusual situations, e.g. being subject to possible physical attack.
• Requires considerable and strenuous physical exertion such as long periods of standing, walking, bending, crouching, reaching, etc. and recurring lifting.
• Successful completion of a criminal background check.
