Job summary

Manhattan-Ogden USD 383 is seeking a Substitute School Nurse to promote student health across district locations. The role focuses on minimizing illness-related absences and maintaining a climate of well-being in our schools.

This position offers flexible scheduling with both full-time and part-time opportunities; the nurse will report to the Director of Communications and Safety/Building Principal and performs health-related duties and first aid as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Reports to parents, school personnel, physicians, clinics, and other agencies on school medical matters.
  • Assumes responsibility for the first aid care of a student or staff member who has suffered injury or illness.
  • Provides health education on an individual basis.
  • Visits home of students when necessary or when referred by principals.
  • Advises on modification of the educational program to meet health needs of individual students.
  • Advises teachers on health matters, particularly regarding screening for student health problems.
  • Interprets laws relating to school health.
  • Assists school personnel in establishing healthy conditions in schools.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • FLSA Status: Non-Exempt.

Hours Per Day

Reports To
  • Director of Communications and Safety/Building Principal.
  • Performance will be evaluated in accordance with the Board of Educations policy on the evaluation of personnel.
