Job summary

Riverview Gardens School District seeks a licensed nurse to provide comprehensive student health services in a designated building. Qualifications

• Graduation from an appropriately accredited school of nursing.
• Registered nurse (RN) and/or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) licensure in Missouri.

Responsibilities

• Provide routine student health services in a designated school environment.
• Administer first aid, screen ill or injured students, referrals and maintain health records.
• Perform nursing tasks per Missouri Nursing Practice Act.
• Care for accidents and illnesses per district policy; provide immediate care and notify parents as needed.
• Maintain all Medical Department records and health program documentation.
• Establish and support a student health program in collaboration with the Board of Education.
• Assist teachers in recognizing illness symptoms and health needs.
• Coordinate follow-up on defects and health education materials.
• Confer with teachers, parents, and groups; be available for emergencies.
• Encourage vaccination compliance and work with counselors on referrals.
• Engage in health counseling as part of school nursing services.
• Perform other duties as assigned by building administrator.
