The Fort Madison Community School District is seeking a Substitute School Nurse to provide temporary health services when the regular nurse is unavailable. You will support student safety, administer medications per orders, and follow district emergency procedures and FERPA/HIPAA guidelines.
This on-call, on-site role requires current Iowa RN or LPN licensure, CPR/BLS and First Aid, and Mandatory Reporter certification. Prior school nursing or pediatric/public health experience is preferred.
The Substitute School Nurse provides temporary health services to students and staff in the absence of the regular school nurse. The position ensures that school health programs and emergency procedures are implemented according to Iowa Department of Education and Department of Public Health guidelines.
Work Schedule: As needed, on an on-call basis during the regular school year when the assigned school nurse is unavailable.
Physical Requirements: Bending, carrying, climbing, driving, lifting, pushing/pulling, reaching, sitting, standing, walking. Ability to respond quickly in emergency situations.
Pay: $145 per day as a sub nurse
